Pungo Ridge, home of WesternBootSales.com, was established in 2008 as Western Boot Sales, an online western store by Bob and Joan Stephens, former owners of Western Boot Service aka "The Cowboy Cobbler", located in Auburn, California. Bob was involved in the Western industry for over 50 years before he finally retired in 2009. For most of that time, he worked as a sales representative for many major manufacturers of boots, apparel and accessories. After their retirement, his daughter, Kelley, and her husband Tom Moore, a retired US Marine, took over operations of the business.

In 2012, Tom and Kelley opened a retail store, Pungo Ridge, located in the Creeds area of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Pungo Ridge was named after the region of which the store is located and serves as an outlet for the online store and offers additional merchandise that caters to the local outdoor enthusiasts in their rural area of Southeast Virginia and Northeast North Carolina.  Read more about how Tom and Kelley started Pungo Ridge from a local article in The Princess Anne Independent News.  Our retail showroom in Virginia Beach closed to the public on December 28, 2019.
